چکیده
We analyze, both experimentally and numerically, the nonlinear regime of photo-induced coherent magnetization dynamics in cobalt-doped yttrium iron garnet films. Photo-magnetic excitation with femtosecond laser pulses reveals a strongly response spin subsystem significant increase effective Gilbert damping. By varying fluence external magnetic field, we show that this nonlinearity originates anharmonicity energy landscape. numerically map parameter workspace for below photo-magnetic switching threshold. Corroborated by numerical simulations Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, our results highlight key role cubic symmetry reaching precession regime. These findings expand fundamental understanding laser-induced as well facilitate development applied photo-magnetism.

Nonlinear magnetization dynamics in magnetic insulator / normal metal hybrids
The equation of motion of magnetization is strongly nonlinear, yielding a series of interesting phenomena. For instance it is well known that in ferromagnetic resonance of extended films, where one uses a microwave field to pump the spin system at a particular frequency, spin-wave (SW) instabilities quickly develop as the excitation power is increased, preventing to achieve large angle of unifo...

متن کاملDetection of picosecond magnetization dynamics of 50 nm magnetic dots down to the single dot regime.
We report an all-optical time-domain detection of picosecond magnetization dynamics of arrays of 50 nm Ni(80)Fe(20) (permalloy) dots down to the single nanodot regime. In the single nanodot regime the dynamics reveals one dominant resonant mode corresponding to the edge mode of the 50 nm dot with slightly higher damping than that of the unpatterned thin film. With the increase in areal density ...

Magnetization Dynamics in Racetrack Memory Various devices have been proposed which use magnetic domain walls (DWs) in nano-sized magnetic structures to perform logic operations or store information. In particularin ‘Racetrack memory’ bits of information represented by DWs are shifted in amagnetic wire to be stored. For these memory and logic devices to be successful, greatcontr...
